The Saint John Sea Dogs (24-10-3-1, 1st Maritimes, 2nd QMJHL) are in Halifax today to face the Mooseheads (17-18-1-2, 5th Maritimes, 12th QMJHL) at 4 p.m.

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 5-1 win over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan last night at Harbour Station. Matthew Highmore had a pair of goals while singles came from Samuel Dove-McFalls, Simon Bourque and Bokondji Imama. Alex D'Orio made 30 saves in the win. The Mooseheads are coming off a 6-2 win over the Wildcats last night at Scotiabank Centre. Frederic Aube and Nico Hischier each scored twice while Maxime Fortier and Raphael Lavoie added singles. Blade Mann-Dixon made 24 stops in the victory.
2016-17 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 0-1-0-0 against the Mooseheads this season while Halifax is 1-0-0-0 against Saint John.
Last meeting: Sept. 24 in Halifax where the Mooseheads defeated the Sea Dogs 4-3. Benoit-Olivier Groulx scored twice in that game for Halifax while singles came courtesy of Cooper Jones and Arnaud Durandeau. John Warren, Gabriel Bettez and Matthew Highmore had Saint John goals. Kevin Resop made 33 saves in the win. Alex Bishop made 23 stops in the loss.

Random stat: This is, surprisingly, just the second meeting of the season between the Sea Dogs and Mooseheads. Including today's match, the two teams will face each other seven times between now and March 18.
Three Things to Know
1. Help is on the way - but it's not coming this weekend. Team Canada's Thomas Chabot, Mathieu Joseph and Julien Gauthier are not expected to join the Sea Dogs until next week, reports the Telegraph-Journal.
2. This is the second game of a three-in-three for Saint John. They kicked it off with a strong 5-1 home win over the Titan last night.
3. Two of the league's top point produces go head-to-head today. Maxime Fortier leads the league in scoring with 60 points while Matthew Highmore is right behind him with 59.

Fortier's 40 assists leads the team... Saint John is 11-6-1-1 on the road... Halifax is 10-8-0-1 at home... Alex D'Orio has a league best 2.10 GAA... despite missing the past few weeks away at the world juniors, Hischier still leads the QMJHL in rookie scoring with 52 points... Saint John still has the best power play in the league with a rating of 31.6%... Halifax's penalty kill has struggled this year. It sits 15th with a rating of 73.8%... Highmore has goals in three straight games... the Moose are 2-6-1-1 in their last 10 games but have won two straight.
