The Sea Dogs advanced to the semis after sweeping the Baie-Comeau
Drakkar in the quarterfinals, a series that ended one week ago tonight. The
Sagueneens are coming off a stunning series win over the Memorial Cup host
Shawinigan Cataractes that went the full seven games.
Chicoutimi has seen plenty of action so far this
post-season. They were the only team unable to sweep their opening round
playoff series, needing six games to eliminate the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. The
Sags have played 13 playoff games this year compared to Saint John’s eight.
The Sags had a 2-1-0-0 record against Saint John in the
regular season while the Dogs were 1-1-0-1 against Chicoutimi. This should be a
great series.
Tickets to Games 1 and 2 are already on sale. Seats for
Friday’s game are listed as “limited.”
