GAME DAY 64: vs Islanders

The Saint John Sea Dogs (41-17-5-0, 87 points, 1st Maritimes, 3rd QMJHL) look to, once again, try and clinch the Maritimes Division against the Charlottetown Islanders (31-26-5-2, 69 points, 4th Maritimes, 10th QMJHL). Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Harbour Station.

Last games: The Islanders are coming off a 4-3 overtime win over the Sea Dogs on Sunday at Eastlink Centre. Kameron Kielly scored twice for the Isles while Bradley Kennedy and Samuel Blais added singles. Matthew Welsh made 32 saves in the victory. The Sea Dogs are coming off a 7-4 loss in Moncton on Wednesday. Nathan Noel, Daniel Del Paggio, Oliver Felixson and Matthew Highmore scored for Saint John. Marc-Antoine Turcotte allowed seven goals on 36 shots in the loss.

2015-16 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 6-0-2-0 against the Islanders this season while Charlottetown is 2-5-1-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Sunday in Charlottetown where the Islanders defeated the Sea Dogs 4-3 in overtime. Kameron Kielly scored twice for the Isles while Bradley Kennedy and Samuel Blais added singles. Matt Murphy, Daniel Del Paggio and Sam Povorozniouk had Saint John goals. Matthew Welsh made 32 saves in the victory. Marc-Antoine Turcotte made 40 saves in the loss.

Three Things to Know
1.The Islanders could still get home ice advantage in the first round – but their chances of doing so are shrinking. With four games left, the Isles sit three points back of the eighth-place Rimouski Oceanic.

2. Mathieu Joseph (five goals and seven assists) and Matthew Highmore (four goals and eight assists) each have a Sea Dogs high 12 points in eight games against Charlottetown this season.

3. Six of the eight meetings between these two clubs have been decided by one goal – with three matches going to overtime.

Notes: The Sea Dogs are 22-8-2-0 at home this season… the Islanders are 13-14-4-1 on the road… Samuel Blais is 17th in QMJHL scoring with 31 goals and 77 points… Mathieu Joseph is tied for the league lead in shorthanded points with eight… the Sea Dogs were without Joseph (shoulder) and Adam Marsh (upper body) on Wednesday… Daniel Del Paggio has goals in four straight games… Joseph and Matthew Highmore each have assists in five straight games… Sam Povorozniouk has goals in three straight home games… the Sea Dogs have won seven straight home games.
