Sebastien Auger was honoured for his
excellent CIS rookie season last night at the men's hockey awards banquet in Halifax.
Auger was named to the All-Rookie Team along with former QMJHL players
Dominic Talbot-Tassi and Phil Gadoury.
Auger went 23-4 in the regular season to
go along with a 2.44 goals against average and a .927 save percentage. The
former Dogs netminder was unreal in the OUA playoffs, posting a 7-0 record with
a 1.76 GAA and .943 SV%.
UQTR enters this week’s University Cup,
which will be played at Scotiabank Centre, as the No.1 seed. They’ll face
Stephen MacAulay and the host Saint Mary’s Huskies on Friday night.

The semifinals will take place on
Saturday with the gold and bronze medals games happening on Sunday.
Seven former Sea Dogs will play in the
tournament: Jason Seed (Carleton), David Weckworth (Carleton), Mark Tremaine
(StFX), Mike Thomas (UNB), Stephen Anderson (UNB), MacAulay (SMU) and Auger
(UQTR).

- The Sea Dogs are back in action on Friday when they take on the Screaming Eagles in Sydney. The two will also meet on Saturday afternoon at Centre 200 to close out the regular season.
- Saint John called up forward Kallum Muirhead from the NB/PEI Major Midget Hockey League’s Charlottetown Islanders yesterday. The 17-year-old led the Isles in scoring with 14 goals and 26 points in 30 games.
