Game Day 11: at Charlottetown

CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI - The Saint John Sea Dogs are back in action this afternoon, visiting the Charlottetown Islanders.

The Sea Dogs will look to rebound from a 4-0 home loss to the Halifax Mooseheads on Friday, a loss that saw the club hang with the Maritimes Division leaders for 40 minutes only to let things slip away early in the third.

Game time this afternoon is 3 p.m. at Eastlink Centre.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 2-6-2-0 for six points (sixth Maritimes, 17th QMJHL) while the Islanders are 4-5-1-0 for nine points (third Maritimes, 12th QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 4-0 home loss to the Halifax Mooseheads on Friday. Alex D'Orio made 34 stops in the loss. The Islanders are coming off a 4-1 road win over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Friday. Liam Peyton, William Sirman, Hunter Drew and Daniel Hardie all scored for Charlottetown. Matthew Welsh made 22 stops in the victory.

2018-19 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 0-1-0-0 against the Islanders this season while Charlottetown is 1-0-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Sept. 26 in Charlottetown where the Islanders shutout the Sea Dogs 4-0. Keith Getson, Thomas Casey, Kevin Gursoy and Zachary Beauregard all scored for the Isles. Matthew Welsh made 32 stops in the win. Alex D'Orio made 37 saves in the loss.

Islander to watch: Islanders captain Pierre-Olivier Joseph was still attending Arizona Coyotes camp the last time these two teams met. Joseph, a first round pick of the Coyotes, has a goal and two assists in seven games so far this year.

Random stat: Former Sea Dog Kevin Gursoy's only goal this season came against Saint John.
