Game Day 15: at Charlottetown

CHARLOTTETOWN - The Saint John Sea Dogs will look to end a five-game losing streak this evening in Charlottetown.

It's the first of back-to-back meetings for the Sea Dogs and Islanders who also battle on Sunday afternoon at Harbour Station. Game time this evening is 7:30 p.m. at Eastlink Centre.

Charlottetown has won both meetings this season - with the last one being decided in a shootout.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 2-9-2-1 for seven points (fifth Maritimes, 17th QMJHL) while the Islanders are 8-5-1-0 for 17 points (third Maritimes, seventh QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 5-2 loss in Moncton last night. Yohan Plamondon and Brady Burns scored for Saint John. Alex D'Orio made 37 stops in the loss. The Islanders are coming off a 6-1 win in Bathurst on Thursday night. Nikita Alexandrov scored twice while singles came from Xavier Fortin, Brett Budgell, Cole Edwards and Thomas Casey. Dakota Lund-Cornish made 15 saves in the win.

2018-19 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 0-1-0-1 against the Islanders this season while Charlottetown is 2-0-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Oct. 14 at Eastlink Centre where the Islanders edged the Sea Dogs 6-5 in a shootout. Hunter Drew, Liam Peyton, Kevin Gursoy, Derek Gentile and Nikita Alexandrov scored for Charlottetown. Saint John goals came from Robbie Burt (two), Josh Lawrence, Charlie DesRoches and William Poirier. Matthew Welsh made 30 saves in the win. Alex D'Orio made 49 stops in the loss.

Islander to watch: Nikita Alexandrov has five goals in his past four games.
