Game Day 14: at Moncton

MONCTON - The Saint John Sea Dogs return to the Avenir Centre for the first time since the building's grand opening tonight.

The Sea Dogs fell 5-2 on that night and will look to get their first victory in the new building this evening. Game time is 7 p.m.

Saint John carries a four-game losing streak into tonight's contest while the Wildcats have picked up points in eight straight.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 2-8-2-1 for seven points (fifth Maritimes, 17th QMJHL) while the Wildcats are 8-3-2-0 for 18 points (second QMJHL, fifth QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off an ugly 9-2 home loss to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on Sunday afternoon. Yohan Plamondon and Charlie DesRoches scored for Saint John. Tommy DaSilva made 24 stops in the loss. The Wildcats are coming off a 5-4 come-from-behind win over the Rimouski Oceanic on home ice on Sunday. Alexander Khovanov scored twice for Moncton while singles came from Ozzie King, Mika Cyr and Brady Pataki. Francis Leclerc made 31 stops in the win.

2018-19 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 1-1-0-0 against the Wildcats this season while Moncton is 1-1-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Sept. 28 at the Avenir Centre where the Wildcats defeated the Sea Dogs 5-2. Alexander Khovanov scored twice for the Wildcats while solo markers came from Jakob Pelletier, Jeremy McKenna and Jacob Hudson. Maxim Cajkovic and Filip Prikryl scored for Saint John. Francis Leclerc made 22 saves in the win. Alex D'Orio made 31 stops in the loss.
