BAIE-COMEAU, Que.

The Sea Dogs never led in the game until 14:52 of the third period when Nathan Beaulieu blasted a shot past Baie-Comeau goaltender Jimmy Appleby, giving Saint John a late 3-2 lead. The Drakkar gave the Dogs a scare in the dying seconds but were able to hang on.

The win gave Saint John a 2-1 record on their Quebec road swing.

But the Sea Dogs quickly tied it up. At 8:03, Kevin Gagne was in the high slot and beat Appleby with a hard wrist shot through some traffic to make it a 2-2 affair.

Durette had a great chance moments later for the Drakkar but Auger made a fine pad stop. Then, on a two-on-one, Stephen MacAulay was unable to get a good shot off.

A few moments later, Gauthier was robbed by Appleby as the puck came close to the goal line but stayed out. Saint John had another man advantage opportunity at 17:40 but they were unable to add to their lead.

With eight seconds left, Beaulieu headed to the box to give the Drakkar a golden opportunity to tie it up. Following a faceoff win in the Sea Dogs zone, the Drakkar nailed the post but the puck stayed out. After the buzzer blew, the play was reviewed and ruled no goal.
