2011 Subway Super Series – Game Two – Team Russia vs Team
QMJHL
Tonight, November 9, 2011 at 8pm
Pepsi Colisee
QUEBEC CITY, Que. – After a disappointing 2-0 loss in
Game One, Team QMJHL will look to get some revenge on Team Russia tonight as
the 2011 Subway Super Series continues.
Game time for Game Two of the series is 8pm at Pepsi Colisee. The match can be seen live across Canada on Sportsnet.
Game One was a rough one for the Quebec Major Junior
Hockey League all-stars. They played well, outshooting Russia 42-12 but could
not beat goaltender Sergey Kostenko. Kirill Rasskazov and Bogdan Potekhin each
scored in the win.
The QMJHL has now lost three straight games against the
Russians dating back to last year’s sweep. You can make all the excuses you
want, but the reality is that being swept for a second straight year would not
look good on the league.
Three members of the Saint John Sea Dogs are taking part in
the event: defensemen Nathan Beaulieu and Pierre Durepos and forward Zack
Phillips. Jonathan Huberdeau was also named to the roster but is unable to play
due to a broken foot.
All three Sea Dogs played fairly well on Monday night.
Phillips led Team QMJHL with five shots on goal.
There are some different line combos for the Q tonight,
as tweeted by RDS’ Stephane Leroux.
