Jack Eichel has been named to the US National Junior Team’s preliminary roster for the upcoming 2014 World Junior Hockey Championship.
Eichel was the only underage player named to the United
States’ camp roster. 26 players will take part in a training camp in Minnesota
beginning on December 15th. They will then play two exhibition games
in Sweden before naming their final 23-man roster on December 23rd.
Considered a top prospect for the 2015 NHL Draft, Eichel
has 12 goals and nine assists in nine United States Hockey League games with
the US National Under-18 Team.
The 17-year old has committed to play at Boston
University next year. He was a 10th round pick of the Sea Dogs in the 2013
QMJHL Entry Draft.
