SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Sea Dogs wrap up the home
portion of their first half schedule this weekend.
The Sea Dogs host the Victoriaville Tigres tonight at
7:30pm and the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles tomorrow at 7pm. Saint John will
then end their first half schedule with four straight road games.
The Dogs sit last in the Telus Maritimes Division and 17th
overall in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with a 7-20-0-3 record. They
have lost two straight and are 1-8-0-1 in their last 10 games.
If Saint John wants to get back into the playoff picture,
a few wins before the Christmas break would be helpful. They currently sit
seven points back of the Sherbrooke Phoenix who own the final playoff spot.
The Tigres enter play tonight with a 12-14-2-2 record
which places them 5th in the Telus East Division and 14th
overall. They are 3-4-1-2 in their last 10 contests.
Angelo Miceli leads the team in scoring with 18 goals and
11 assists for 29 points in 30 games.
Tonight’s match will be the second of a three-game road
trip through the Maritimes for Victoriaville. They lost 4-1 in Halifax last
night, play in Saint John tonight, and visit Moncton on Sunday.
