Abbott was leading the Sea Dogs in scoring earlier this
season but has cooled down of late. The 19-year old defenseman has six goals and 10
assists in 22 games this year, good for 18th in scoring amongst
Quebec Major Junior Hockey League d-men.
The loss of Abbott is a significant loss to Saint John’s
power play. The Newfoundlander has a bomb of a shot with all six of his goals
coming on the man advantage.
Saint John plays their final two home games before
Christmas on Friday and Saturday night at Harbour Station.
