Former Sea Dogs forward Tomas Jurco has reportedly been
called up by the Detroit Red Wings and is expected to make his National Hockey
League debut today against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Justin Abdelkader left with a possible concussion in the first period of Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. General manager Ken Holland told the Free Press the Wings will call up Jurco in time for Sunday's afternoon game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Joe Louis Arena.
Jurco, selected in the second-round of the 2011 NHL Draft
by Detroit, is having a solid season in the American Hockey League with the
Grand Rapids Griffins. In 26 games, the 20-year old has 11 goals and 16 assists
for 27 points. He sits eighth in AHL scoring.
The skilled Slovak will become the eighth former Sea Dog to play in the NHL this season.
