The Western Hockey League blog Small Thoughts At Large had some interesting stats on their blog today. The site compared the distances that all 18 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams travel in a season.
The stats showed that the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, travelling 29,855 km per season, see the largest amount of road in a campaign. Not only are the Eagles tops in the QMJHL, but are number one in the entire Canadian Hockey League.
“Longest driving distance between two cities in the QMJHL is (no surprise) Cape Breton to Rouyn-Noranda, which comes in at 2086 km,” writes Alan C. “Shortest distance is Drummondville to Victoriaville, at 62 km. All distances, for all three leagues, come from Mapquest.”
He notes that the numbers, of course, are estimates given side stops and other things.
