SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Sea Dogs took on the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Thursday night at Harbour Station.

Sebastien Auger skated into net for Saint John while Jacob Brennan stood guard for Bathurst.

FIRST PERIOD
Amazingly the first penalty of the game didn't come until Samuel Robert was called for holding at 13:39.

Next to the box was Jason Cameron at 17:31 for holding.

For the majority of the period, the Titan continued to play an offensive game, dominating the shots on goal with a total of 18-8.

SECOND PERIOD
Matthew Highmore spent some time in the box after getting called for hooking at 3:40.

Etienne Salvail was next to venture to time out land as he served a slashing penalty at 4:07.

Too many men on the ice lead the Sea Dogs to the penalty kill as Stephen Anderson served the penalty at 5:46.

Highmore headed to the box again, this time for high sticking at 8:58.

Alec Jon Banville put the first goal up on the board for Bathurst at 8:58 as the puck slipped by Auger. That made it 1-0 Bathurst.

Olivier Houle soon sent The Titan to the penalty kill with a delay of game penalty at 9:35.

With a shorthanded goal, Zach O'Brien increased the Bathurst lead at 11:16 to 2-0.

The Dogs headed to the penalty kill as Andreas Tsogkas took an interference penalty at 12:55.

Shots in the second were 11 apiece.

THIRD PERIOD
Adam Zboril and Ryan Tesink spent some time in the penalty box at 7:22 for roughing. This was the first penalty of the period.

Soon after, Matthew Bissonette scored Bathurst's 3rd goal at 8:56. That made it 3-0 Bathurst.

Sean Girard was sent off to the box at 10:02 for roughing. Stephen Anderson continued the train to the penalty box as he served a tripping penalty at 13:45. Stephen MacAulay flipped a puck over the glass to earn a delay of game penalty at 14:43. Then, Oliver Cooper found himself the recipient of a two-minute penalty for holding and another two-minute infraction for unsportsmanlike conduct. Steven Duda and Carl Marois got into a scrap just seconds before the end of the period and were both sent off.

That would be it for this one with a final score of 3-0 for Bathurst. Total shots on goal were 45-29 in favour of the Titan.

NOTES: See Sea Dogs Postscript tomorrow on SN.

NEXT GAME: The Dogs return tomorrow to the Station to take on the Halifax Mooseheads. Puck drops at 7:30pm.
