- The Saint John Sea Dogs simply couldn't stay out of the penalty box in a 6-2 loss to the Shawinigan Cataractes on Friday.

The Cataractes scored three power play goals on 10 opportunities and another during some four-on-four play in the victory. Shawinigan entered the game with the league's second worst power play.

Natan Ethier, Alexis Bonfon, Isaac Menard, Angus Booth, William Veillette and Lorenzo Canonica scored for Shawinigan. Mathis Cloutier had three assists while Jordan Tourigny had two. Antoine Coulombe made 21 saves in the win.

Peter Reynolds and Brady Burns scored for Saint John. Nikolas Hurtubise made 19 saves in the loss.

Saint John trailed 3-0 after the first period but got off to a good start in the second, scoring an early goal to get back within two. But the constant trips to the penalty box made it impossible for the team to maintain any momentum.

The Sea Dogs have now dropped three straight games overall and are 0-4 in games played in Quebec this season. They have two more games remaining on this Quebec road trip.
