Alumdate: Mateiko scores first with Oceanic

Eriks Mateiko is on the board in his new home.

The former Saint John Sea Dogs captain netted his first goal as a member of the Rimouski Oceanic on Saturday in a 3-1 win over the Shawinigan Cataractes.
The goal was Mateiko's 15th of the season.

The Latvian has just the one goal in three games with the Oceanic – but it hasn't been for a lack of trying. He's recorded three or more shots in all three of those games.

Mateiko makes his return to TD Station this Friday when the Oceanic take on the Sea Dogs at 7 p.m. From there Rimouski will visit the Moncton Wildcats on Saturday in a massive showdown between two of the CHL's top-ranked teams. On Sunday, the Oceanic conclude their trip in Charlottetown, taking on the Islanders.

Here's a quick update on how other former Sea Dogs have performed in the QMJHL this season.
