Game Day 54: at Chicoutimi

CHICOUTIMI, QC - It can't get much worse for the Saint John Sea Dogs.

The Sea Dogs lost their ninth straight game last night in Baie-Comeau, suffering a 14-0 blowout loss to the Drakkar. It was the worst loss in franchise history.

Saint John will be in tough again tonight, facing a Sagueneens team that currently sits fourth overall in the QMJHL standings. 

Game time tonight is 8 p.m. Atlantic.

2024-25 regular season records: The Sea Dogs are 19-34-0-0 for 38 points (sixth Maritimes/10th Eastern/16th QMJHL) while the Sagueneens are 30-13-3-7 for 70 points (second East/third Eastern/fourth QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 14-0 loss in Baie-Comeau last night. Eric Young allowed 12 goals on 40 shots while Justin Robinson allowed two goals on two shots before leaving the game with an injury. The Sagueneens are coming off a 5-2 win in Drummondville last night. Maxime Masse netted a pair of goals while singles came from Thomas Desruisseaux, Emmanuel Vermette and Emile Ricard. Raphael Precourt made 45 saves in the win.

2024-25 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 0-1-0-0 against the Sagueneens this season while Chicoutimi is 1-0-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Jan. 23 in Saint John where the Sagueneens defeated the Sea Dogs 8-1. Thomas Desruisseaux scored a hat trick in that game while singles came from Nathan Lecompte, Christophe Berthelot, Korney Korneyev, Emile Guite and Kassim Gaudet. Ben Cross netted Saint John's lone goal. Justin Robinson allowed eight goals on 41 shots in the loss. Raphael Precourt made 18 saves in the win.

Sagueneens to watch: Loic Usereau currently sits fifth in QMJHL defensemen scoring with 38 points.
