The Sea Dogs dropped the first two games of this three-game, four-day Quebec excursion by a combined score of 20-1. They carry a 10-game losing streak into today's matchup against the Shawinigan Cataractes.
Unfortunately for Saint John, the Cataractes are not an easy opponent. Shawinigan defeated the Sea Dogs 6-4 last Saturday at TD Station.
At this point, any positives the Sea Dogs can get out of this road trip will be welcome. Game time at Centre Gervais Auto is 5 p.m. Atlantic.

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 6-1 loss in Chicoutimi on Friday. Egan Beveridge scored Saint John's only goal while Eric Young made 45 saves in the loss. The Cataractes are coming off a 5-0 home win over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Friday. Jordan Tourigny, Louis-Philippe Fontaine, Brogan McNeil, Vince Elie and Jiri Klima all scored for Shawinigan. Mathys Fernandez made 28 stops for the shutout.
2024-25 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 0-1-0-0 against the Cataractes this season while Shawinigan is 1-0-0-0 against Saint John.
Last meeting: Feb. 15 in Saint John where the Cataractes edged the Sea Dogs 6-4. Vince Elie scored a pair of goals for Shawinigan while Mathieu Plante, Matvei Gridin and Chad Lygitsakos added singles. Dylan Rozzi, Elliot Dubé, Ben Cross and Olivier Groulx all scored for Saint John. Mathys Fernandez made 30 saves in the win. Justin Robinson was pulled after allowing two goals on six shots while Eric Young allowed three goals on 26 shots in relief.

Random stat: Starts have been an issue for Saint John during this losing streak. The Sea Dogs have scored first in just 15 games this season, a league low.
