OUELLET LEAVES FOR PERSONAL REASONS

Olivier Ouellet has left the Saint John Sea Dogs due to "personal reasons." The announcement that he would be leaving the team for an undisclosed amount of time came on the Sea Dogs official Twitter page mid afternoon today.

The cause for Ouellet's departure is unknown and details will likely be given tomorrow in the Telegraph-Journal or on News 88.9's broadcast tomorrow night beginning at 8:25 pm.

Ouellet has reportedly had a troubled past in Chicoutimi. The Sags traded the left winger on January 8, 2009 to Saint John much to the dismay of Chicoutimi fans. In 83 games with Saint John he scored 27 goals and 36 assists. In his career, the former second round pick has 37 goals and 87 points in 149 games.

The speedy winger has had limited ice time this season due to upstart rookies Stanislav Galiev, Tomas Jurco, and Zach Phillips joining the team in the off season. He was scratched last Saturday due to the flu.
