Game Day 37: vs Tigres

SAINT JOHN - The defending President Cup champions make their lone appearance of the season at TD Station tonight.

The Victoriaville Tigres play their final game of a three-in-three Maritime road trip this evening against the Saint John Sea Dogs. It's been a rough trip so far, falling 7-1 in Bathurst on Thursday and 7-2 in Charlottetown last night.

A couple of Sea Dogs are very familiar with the Tigres. Defenseman Vincent Sevigny and goaltender Nikolas Hurtubise, acquired by Saint John during the holiday trade period, helped Victoriaville win last year's QMJHL championship.

Game time tonight is 7 p.m.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 20-13-0-3 for 43 points (third Maritimes/fourth Eastern/seventh QMJHL) while the Tigres are 14-17-3-2 for 33 points (fourth Central/sixth Western/14th QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a hard fought 3-2 win in Halifax last night. Philippe Daoust scored all three of Saint John's goals while Nikolas Hurtubise made 33 saves in the win. The Tigres are coming off a 7-2 loss in Charlottetown last night. Loick Daigle and Egor Goriunov scored for Victoriaville. Nathan Darveau made 37 stops in the loss.

2021-22 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 0-1-0-0 against the Tigres this season while Victoriaville is 1-0-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Dec. 5 in Victoriaville where the Tigres defeated the Sea Dogs 2-1. Maxime Pellerin netted both Victoriaville goals while William Dufour scored for Saint John. Nathan Darveau made 33 saves in the win. Jonathan Lemieux made 23 stops in the loss.
