Game Day 39: at Halifax

HALIFAX - The Saint John Sea Dogs return to Scotiabank Centre tonight.

The Sea Dogs defeated the Mooseheads last Friday in Halifax in what proved to be a physical and intense game, resulting in a few suspensions. Could we see more of the same tonight? We'll find out shortly after puck drop at 7 p.m.

Both teams have been fighting with the injury and illness bugs recently, so we could some different looking lineups this evening.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 21-14-0-3 for 45 points (third Maritimes/fourth Eastern/seventh QMJHL) while the Mooseheads are 21-15-1-1 for 41 points (fourth Maritimes/fifth Eastern/eighth QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 2-1 home loss to the Drummondville Voltigeurs on Sunday. Brady Burns scored Saint John's lone goal while Nikolas Hurtubise made 17 stops in the loss. The Mooseheads are coming off a 5-2 loss in Charlottetown last night. Brandon Abbass and Jordan Dumais scored for the Moose. Brady James made 30 stops in the loss.

2021-22 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 3-0-0-0 against the Mooseheads this season while Halifax is 0-2-1-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Last Friday in Halifax where the Sea Dogs edged the Mooseheads 3-2. Philippe Daoust had a hat trick in that game for Saint John while Halifax goals came from Elliot Desnoyers and Zachary Beauregard. Nikolas Hurtubise made 33 stops in the win. Brady James made 32 saves in the loss.
