Mathieu Joseph’s status for the rest of
the playoffs seems to be unknown at the moment.
Joseph left Friday’s game early in the first period and did not return. He was shown leaving Harbour Station on a stretcher not long after exiting the game, which Rogers TV reported was due to a cut on his leg.
The 19-year-old winger tweeted an update on his status late Friday:

So there’s that.
Joseph is second on the Sea Dogs in
playoff scoring with five goals and seven points in five games. The Tampa Bay
Lightning prospect had been playing on the team’s top line with Matthew
Highmore and Daniel Del Paggio, a line that has been hot for a while. Sam
Povorozniouk, who leads the team in playoff scoring, or exceptional rookie Joe
Veleno will presumably slide into Joseph’s spot on the top line.
There's no other way to say it: this is a huge blow to the Sea Dogs. Joseph has been one of Saint John's top offensive players in the second half and is also one of the league's top defensive forwards. He will leave a big hole in the Dogs lineup.
