Saint John Sea Dogs forward Danick Gauthier has been impressing fans with his skills all season long. Now the scouts are beginning to take a look at the 18 year old Quebec native.
Kyle Woodief of the well known Red Line Report had this to say about Gauthier:
"Next up is Danick Gauthier from St. John. At 6-2/183, he's not quite as large as (Montreal Junior Louis-Marc) Aubry, but still has fine size and natural athleticism and plays a flashier offensive game. He's got tremendously soft hands and slick moves that make him dangerous in 1-on-1 situations and loves to use the spin-a-rama directly into a deceptive backhander. Gauthier is very involved in the offensive end and creates loads of chances, heading straight to net where he can use his long reach and good body positioning around the crease."
In 18 games this season he has five goals and four assists and is a +2. He was traded to Saint John from Shawinigan last season at the holiday trade deadline. He was drafted 26th overall by the Cataractes in the 2008 QMJHL entry draft.
