VIDEO: Imama Tossed For Boarding

SYDNEY, NS – Bokondji Imama’s night ended early on Tuesday.

Imama was given a five-minute boarding major and game misconduct for a hit on Tobie Paquette-Bisson in the second period of game four of the Cape Breton/Saint John series.
Bisson was down on the ice for several minutes and was attended to by both team’s athletic therapists. He was eventually stretchered off.

According to Sea Dogs radio broadcaster Tim Roszell, the on-ice officials did not indicate a penalty call originally.

Imama is certainly no stranger to controversial plays/hits and it will be interesting to see how the league handles this one.

While the Cape Breton/Saint John season series hasn't been overly nasty, there were several suspensions. Recently, Nathan Noel was suspended for Monday’s game due to a check from behind. The Sea Dogs also sent a video of a Pierre-Luc Dubois hit from Monday to the league but no suspension was given out.

  1. I was attending the game and I told a bunch of my friends that he wasn't gonna stop until he hurt someone. He was running around with his elbow up all night, I hope Bisson okay and he is suspended for the rest of the series.

  3. If Imama didn't have IRVING power behind him the gutless league would have suspended him for the rest of his so called career in Dec

  4. Nasty nasty hit.Should be looking at atleast a 5 game suspension.Bisson is no doubt gone for remainder of season.Like to think it wasn't Imama"s intent to hurt Bisson but Imama is the only one who knows that. Can"t be hitting guys like that when their in a vulnerable position like that.Dubois got 2 games for hit from behind he atleast gotta get 5 for that vicious hit.My opinion

  5. This is disgusting!!! The refs continue to let things get out of control, and then this happens! No other rink in the league has such poor officiating, but we do. Why? They let it go and let it go, and then a guy leaves on a stretcher.... Absolutely disgusting!!! And it gets better... Not even an initial call on ice! Not until the guy appeared to be dead was there any decision made... When will the QMJHL stop this crap and hire officials who call a fair game? DISGUSTING!!!!

  6. There also could've been a charging major!! Imama as shown in the video intended to hit and hurt bisson. There should be not a single doubt of a suspension for the rest of the series.

  9. 100% clean hit, no head contact and was not from behind.

Anyone above who is whinning about it being dirty is obviously a Cape Breton fan and should switch to watching Tennis or Cheerleading.

    1. haha, 100% clean eh? Might wanna try watching something slower, something more at your level….maybe darts, or bowling perhaps.

  10. Good for Bisson to take a hit to make a pass... but he is somewhat responsible for protecting himself. A shoulder on shoulder hit, he needs to be more aware or his surrounding, he had every opportunity to see him coming and brace himself. Is CB an Olympic ice surface???

What a stupid, stupid, STUPID comment. This has NOTHING to do with the kids size, and everything to do with a juice freak, rage dummy out to hurt. Imama will get his….maybe not Friday, maybe not Sunday….but it will come, and then maybe when he himself is sitting in a quite, dark room trying to figure out what happened and why he can't remember the last 2 days, maybe his junior rage antics will come back one more time, for a good reminder.
