SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs look to keep rolling this afternoon against the Moncton Wildcats.

The Sea Dogs ended an eight-game losing streak yesterday by defeating the Charlottetown Islanders 6-5 in overtime. The Wildcats, meanwhile, have been struggling of late as well, going 3-5-0-2 in their last 10 games - but they are coming off a 4-0 win over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. 

Game time today is 2 p.m. at Harbour Station.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 12-36-2-2 for 28 points (fifth Maritimes, ninth Eastern, 17th QMJHL) while the Wildcats are 27-18-3-4 for 61 points (fourth Maritimes, sixth Eastern, ninth QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 6-5 overtime win over the Charlottetown Islanders last night at Harbour Station. Nicholas Deakin-Poot had a hat trick while singles came from Maxim Cajkovic, Jeremie Poirier and Filip Prikryl. Zachary Bouthillier made 35 saves in the win. The Wildcats are coming off a 4-0 win in Cape Breton on Friday. Jeremy McKenna, Mika Cyr, Zachary Alchorn and Jacob Hudson scored for Moncton. Francis Leclerc made 37 saves in the shutout win.

2018-19 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 3-3-0-0 against the Wildcats this season while Moncton is 3-3-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Jan. 3 at Avenir Centre where the Sea Dogs defeated the Wildcats 6-5. Robbie Burt had a pair of goals for Saint John while singles came from Josh Lawrence, James White, Brady Burns and Benjamin Gagne. Moncton goals came from Charles-Antoine Giguere, Jordan Spence, Jeremy McKenna, Brady Pataki and Dylan Seitz. Mikhail Denisov made 38 stops in the win. Charles-Antoine Lavallee was pulled after allowing four goals on 13 shots. Francis Leclerc allowed two goals in 15 shots in relief.

Wildcat to watch: Jeremy McKenna, who sits fifth in the league in scoring, has six goals and six assists in six games against Saint John this season.
