Game Day 60: at Cape Breton

SYDNEY, NS - The Saint John Sea Dogs play the first of back-to-back games against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles tonight at Centre 200.

The Sea Dogs, who have lost seven straight, are coming off a shootout loss in Charlottetown last Sunday. Cape Breton, meanwhile, is in a three-way tie for fourth place in the Eastern Conference with 73 points.

This is the first game of a three-in-four for Saint John. Game time tonight is 7 p.m.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 12-42-2-3 for 29 points (fifth Maritimes, ninth Eastern, 17th QMJHL) while the Screaming Eagles are 34-20-1-4 for 73 points (second Maritimes, fourth Eastern, sixth QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss in Charlottetown on Sunday. William Poirier, Filip Prikryl and Jeremie Jacob all scored for Saint John. Zachary Bouthillier made 53 saves in the loss. The Screaming Eagles are coming off a 7-3 win in Val-d'Or on Saturday. Mathias Laferriere and Shaun Miller both scored twice while singles came from Derek Gentile, Isiah Campbell and Felix Lafrance. Kevin Mandolese made 24 saves in the win.

2018-19 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 1-5-0-0 against the Screaming Eagles this season while Cape Breton is 5-1-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Jan. 4 at Harbour Station where the Screaming Eagles defeated the Sea Dogs 5-1. Derek Gentile scored twice for Cape Breton while singles came from Egor Sokolov, Ian Smallwood and Shaun Miller. Aiden MacIntosh scored for Saint John. William Grimard made 22 stops in the win. Alex D'Orio made 36 saves in the loss.
