In a makeup game from a postponed November contest, the Memorial Cup hosts didn't have many problems with the Sea Dogs, scoring five times in the first period en route to an easy 10-2 win.
Samuel Asselin and Keith Getson both scored twice for Halifax while singles came from Walter Flower, Patrick Kyte, Benoit-Olivier Groulx, Justin Barron, Raphael Lavoie and Antoine Morand. Cole McLaren made 21 stops in the win.
Charlie DesRoches and Maxim Cajkovic scored for Saint John. Zachary Bouthillier was pulled after allowing six goals on 21 shots. Mikhail Denisov allowed four goals on 24 shots in relief.
As if playing the Mooseheads wasn't difficult enough, Saint John dressed eight 16-year-olds - which included call-ups Connor Richard, Alexis Belisle and Alexandre O'Neill - and recalled defenseman Carson Gallant to play as a fourth line forward for the game.
This was the second straight meeting that saw the Sea Dogs give up 10 goals against the Mooseheads. The two have four more meetings left this season - including this coming Monday at Harbour Station.

NOTES: Alexandre O'Neill, a fifth-round pick of Saint John in last year's QMJHL Entry Draft, made his QMJHL debut. He has been playing midget AAA with the Lac St-Louis Lions this season... Nicholas Deakin-Poot has three goals and two assists in his past three games... the Mooseheads went an incredible 5/7 on the power play... Patrick Kyte and Jared McIsaac each had three assists... the Mooseheads set a team record for fastest three goals scored and Keith Getson set a team record for fastest two goals scored by a single player.
