Game Day 54: at Halifax

HALIFAX - The Saint John Sea Dogs continue a busy stretch of games tonight at Scotiabank Centre.

The Sea Dogs take on the Halifax Mooseheads this evening in a makeup game from a earlier postponed contest. The Dogs then travel to Charlottetown on Wednesday before returning home to host the Moncton Wildcats on Friday night.

Game time tonight is 7 p.m.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 12-37-2-2 for 28 points (fifth Maritimes, ninth Eastern and 17th QMJHL) while the Mooseheads are 38-12-2-1 for 79 points (first Maritimes, first Eastern, third QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 5-3 loss to the Moncton Wildcats on Sunday at Harbour Station. Josh Lawrence, Brady Burns and William Poirier scored for Saint John. Mikhail Denisov made 22 stops before being pulled. Zachary Bouthillier stopped all six shots he faced in relief. The Mooseheads are coming off a 6-1 win over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan last night at Scotiabank Centre. Arnaud Durandeau scored twice while singles came from Samuel Asselin, Xavier Parent, Patrick Kyte and Antoine Morand. Cole McLaren made 18 stops in the win.

2018-19 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 0-2-1-0 against the Mooseheads this season while Halifax is 3-0-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Dec. 7 at Scotiabank Centre where the Mooseheads hammered the Sea Dogs 10-2. Samuel Asselin and Patrick Kyte both scored twice while singles came from Denis Toner, Jordan Maher, Jake Ryczek, Benoit-Olivier Groulx, Arnaud Durandeau and Antoine Morand. Nicholas Deakin-Poot and Jeremie Jacob scored for Saint John. Alexis Gravel made 23 stops in the win. Mikhail Denisov allowed five goals on 16 shots. Tommy DaSilva allowed five goals on 15 shots.

Moosehead to watch: Arnaud Durandeau, who had two goals last night against the Titan, has three goals in three games against Saint John this season.
