Last night at Harbour Station, hundreds of Sea Dogs fans gathered to cheer on their team as they showed off the piece of hardware they
won last week. It was there last chance to say goodbye before the team heads to Shawinigan for the Memorial Cup.
The show started off just like any other game (minus the ice,
glass, and parts of the boards) with the playoff intro video being played and
the spotlight circling around the arena. Players were then introduced
one-by-one by public address announcer Peter McDevitt.
Playoff MVP Charlie Coyle was the first to be introduced
and received a loud cheer. There were big cheers for the team’s three overage
players – Charles Roussel, Danick Gauthier, and Mathieu Corbeil – as well. But
the loudest cheer of all was for team captain Jonathan Huberdeau who came out
last carrying the President’s Cup.
The players then headed upstairs to the concourse to sign
autographs.
Here’s this year’s Memorial Cup send off video.
