THOMAS SUSPENDED SIX GAMES

The QMJHL has suspended Saint John Sea Dogs forward Mike Thomas for six games. The suspension follows a fight in Wednesday's PEI-Saint John tilt at Harbour Station.

Thomas was given an aggressor penalty following the fight. The QMJHL disciplinary prefect has no further commit on the incident.
The video can been seen on SeaDogsTV, the Sea Dogs official YouTube channel (the play begins at the 1:30 mark). He can be seen pounding a Rocket player who is unable to protect himself and laying huddled on the ice. Thomas was thrown out of the game.

The New Maryland native was making his return to Sea Dogs line-up following Philadelphia Flyers training camp. He is a strong candidate for captaincy.

The suspension comes at a bad time with Saint John finishing a home stand this weekend against Victoriaville and the rival Moncton Wildcats. Saint John than hits the road for games against Montreal, Shawinigan, and the Tigres. He will also miss the first of back-to-back games in Cape Breton.
