Tonight at 7:00pm
Radio: News 88.9 | Webcast: Telus | TV: None
BATHURST – Coming off a tough loss last night, the Saint
John Sea Dogs look to rebound tonight in Bathurst against the Titan.
The Sea Dogs were 40 seconds away from at least a point on Friday at Harbour Station,
but Philippe Maillet broke a 3-3 tie in the final minute of the third to give
the Victoriaville Tigres a 4-3 victory and stun Saint John. The Sea Dogs will look
to erase night’s heartbreak tonight when they face the Titan at 7pm.
Saint John enters play with a 22-38-1-0 record which
places them fifth in the Telus Maritimes Division and 15th overall
in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Thanks to Sherbrooke’s win last
night, the Phoenix and Sea Dogs both have 45 points now. Sherbrooke or Saint
John will finish 15th or 16th, which will determine their playoff seeding and where they pick in June’s draft.
Jakub Izacky leads Saint John in scoring with 33 points
in 56 games this season.
The Titan enter action tonight with a 23-31-5-2 record
which places them fourth in the Telus Maritimes Division and 14th
overall. They have already clinched a playoff spot and are four points back of the
Gatineau Olympiques who sit 13th.
Bathurst is of course led by Zach O’Brien who has 43
goals and 41 assists for 84 points in 59 games this year.
Following tonight’s game, the Sea Dogs begin their final
stretch of regular season home games. They host PEI on Wednesday and the Titan on Friday.
