SAINT JOHN – It’s do or die tonight for the Saint John
Sea Dogs.
Down 3-0 in their best-of-seven first round playoff
series against the Halifax Mooseheads, the Sea Dogs must win tonight to extend
the series or their season is over.
Halifax grabbed the 3-0 stranglehold on the series last
night with a 6-1 victory at Harbour Station. Former Sea Dog Stephen MacAulay
and star forward Jonathan Drouin each scored twice while Andrew Ryan and Martin
Frk added solo markers. The Moose outshot the Dogs 46-21.
Saint John has scored just three goals in this series –
one in each game. That ain’t good.
Both teams got into some penalty trouble last night.
MacAulay was given a game misconduct for checking Oliver Cooper from behind at 1:03
of the third. The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League has suspended the 20-year
old forward for tonight’s game, meaning he has likely played his last contest
at Harbour Station.
Not much else to say. Hopefully some people show up for
the game tonight.
