PREVIEW
SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Sea Dogs play their final
home game of the regular season tonight at Harbour Station. The Dogs will host
the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at 7:30pm. It's down to standing room only.
The Sea Dogs are 12-21-0-0 at Harbour Station this
season. They have been outscored 114-78 in their 33 home games.
Saint John still has five games left this season but four
of those will be played on the road. The Sea Dogs will return to the Station
for, at minimum, two playoff games.
Where the Sea Dogs will be seeded for the playoffs is
still up in the air. Entering action tonight, Saint John’s 22-40-1-0 record
places them fifth in the Telus Maritimes Division and 16th overall
in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. They are three points back of the 15th-place
Sherbrooke Phoenix.
The Dogs have fallen back of the Phoenix because of a three-game
losing streak. They are also 2-8-0-0 in their last 10 games.
Jakub Izacky continues to lead Saint John in scoring with
20 goals and 14 assists for 34 points in 58 games.
The Titan enter play tonight with a 25-31-5-2 record
which places them fourth in the Maritimes Division and 14th overall.
With five games to play, Bathurst is one-point back of the 13th-place
Gatineau Olympiques and four back of the 12th-place Chicoutimi
Sagueneens.
Bathurst has been streaky this season but have been
decent of late, picking up points in each of their past three games (2-0-0-1).
Zach O’Brien leads the Titan in scoring of course with 45
goals and 42 assists for 87 points in 61 games.

LAST GAMES
The Sea Dogs are coming off a 3-2 loss to the PEI Rocket
on Wednesday night at Harbour Station. Jakub Izacky and Stephen Anderson had
goals for Saint John. Alex Fournier made 43 stops in the loss.
The Titan are coming off an odd 8-7 overtime victory over
the Halifax Mooseheads on Wednesday night at the KC Irving Regional Centre. Zach
O’Brien and Marc-Olivier Brouillard each scored twice while singles came from
Yan Dumontier, Raphael Lafontaine, Patrik Zdrahal, and Matthew Bissonnette.
Jacob Brennan gave up seven goals on 19 shots. Mason McDonald made eight saves
in relief.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
The Sea Dogs are 3-4-0-0 against the Titan this season
while Bathurst is 4-2-1-0 against Saint John. This is the final meeting of the
season between the two.
The Sea Dogs and Titan met last Saturday in Bathurst
where the Titan won 4-1. Patrik Zdrahal scored twice for the Titan while singles came from
Christophe Lalancette and Michael Beaudry. Maxime Villemaire
scored for Saint John. Alex Fournier made 52 saves in the loss while Jacob
Brennan made 32 in the win.
